STORY OF TAHOE50

Celebrate the Impact of Tahoe50 and our Resort Partners (May 2018 Press Release)

Ski resorts have attracted visitors to their remarkable play grounds and to our incredible region for decades. The nature of their industry makes them competitors, but for years they have set aside their individual interests in order to collaborate and generate philanthropic capital for the mountains and communities they call home.

Recognizing Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation’s mission and commitment to North Tahoe akin to their own, these resorts offered a Community Ski/Ride Pass for many years and donated all of the raised funds directly to TTCF operations. In an atmosphere of high-priced lift tickets, the SkiPass presented 300 lucky holders two tickets to each mountain for a dynamic season of Tahoe’s best skiing.

As skiing evolves, so does the market; with season pass prices drastically dropping in recent years, the partners knew it was time to pivot. Vail Resorts, Sugar Bowl-Royal Gorge and Squaw-Alpine returned to the table with the Tahoe Truckee Community Foundation to create a philanthropic opportunity with even greater impact:Tahoe50.

The Tahoe50 Giving Club represents the innovation that arises when big minds and generous hearts elevate themselves above the competition. Individual and corporate Tahoe50 Giving Club donors crave distinctive and exceptional ski experiences and prioritize local philanthropy and the cultivation of long-standing relationships with like-minded individuals.
